DANCING FOR A CAUSE YMCA Ballroom Battle Saturday, November 12 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM Ritz Carlton Hotel
Twelve prominent community leaders have accepted the Y's invitation to compete in a ballroom dance competition that is modeled after the popular TV series “Dancing with the Stars.” Paired with professional dancers from the Metropolitan Ballroom of Charlotte, our community dancers will be given a series of dance lessons to perfect a routine and then compete for the grand prize at an elegant black tie cocktail reception and dance. All proceeds benefit the Community Support Campaign of the Center City YMCAs - Childress Klein, Dowd, Gateway Village and Stratford Richardson - and enable the Y to offer programs and services that nurture the potential of kids and teens, promote healthy living, foster a sense of social responsibility and strengthen the foundations of community.
