Andy C. Calhoun
President and Chief Executive Officer
Andy is a 35-year veteran of the Charlotte YMCA, embodying the mission, values and vision of the organization. A native of Thomasville, North Carolina, he began his career at the Central Branch (now the Dowd YMCA) in 1972, working as the Assistant Youth Manager. Quickly working his way through the ranks, he became the first Executive Director of the Harris Branch, before stepping into the role of Chief Operating Officer in 1994. Prior to his appointment to President and CEO in March of 2000, Andy served as the interim CEO following the unexpected death of Harry H. Brace, the highly respected 16-year President and CEO. Andy graduated with a degree in History from Wake Forest University and earned his MBA from Queens University. Andy resides in Charlotte with his wife Joann and two children, A.J. and Katey.

Robbie Armstrong
Executive Vice President/COO
Robbie is a native of Laurens, SC and is a graduate of Lander University with a degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation. After serving the YMCA in his hometown of Laurens for 11 years, Robbie relocated to Charlotte in 1989 to provide leadership in the Matthews Community to help start what is now the Siskey Family YMCA. Robbie not only led the startup and development of the Siskey branch but has also been responsible for the initial startup and support for two other YMCA's in Charlotte; the Morrison Family YMCA at Ballantyne and the Steele Creek YMCA.
Robbie currently serves as Executive Vice President and COO in charge of camping services, leadership development, program development, construction, capital planning, strategic planning, membership and marketing. Robbie and his wife, Gail, reside in Matthews with their four children.

Michael DeVaul
Senior Vice President of Organizational Advancement
Michael is a 24-year veteran of the YMCA.  Michael began his career at the McGaw YMCA in Evanston, Illinois and joined the YMCA of Greater Charlotte in 1999.  Formerly Vice President of the University City and Simmons YMCAs, Michael was recognized by Pride Magazine as the "2006 Excellence in Business Award Winner" for his efforts in community building and diversity work in the University City area and across the greater Charlotte community.  In his current role, Mike is responsible for the areas of strategic alliances, communications, marketing, media, public relations and total health. He has been an active leader in the YMCA movement currently on the Association of YMCA Professionals National Conference committee and the North American YMCA Development Organization and formerly served as the National Convener of the African American Executive Forum and is an active member of the African American Leadership Forum.  He is on the local Boards of the Levine Museum of the New South, Countryside Montessori School, Charlotte Regional Partnership, The African American Agenda Steering Committee for 2007 (CM3A), Community Advisory Board of the Junior League, Charlotte Chamber University City Chapter, the new Mallard Creek High School, University City Partners and the University City Community Building Project and is a lifetime member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.  Michael holds a degree from Columbia College.  He is married to Laura and has two sons, Cole and Beau.

David W. Dove
Senior Vice President/CFO
Dave was born and raised in the Philadelphia area and joined the YMCA of Greater Charlotte in 2001. Dave's previous professional experience includes six years as the Chief Financial Officer of a Charlotte-based commercial real estate company and ten years with a national accounting firm. He holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Accounting from Virginia Tech. In his role as CFO of the Charlotte YMCA, Dave is responsible for overseeing the Association’s initiatives in financial planning, strategy, accounting, treasury/cash management and information systems.

Maggie Grafton
Senior Vice President, Leadership Development
Maggie comes to the Y with 19 years of human resources management experience, most recently with General Electric, a $152 billion company. Maggie received several specialty trainings at GE including management development, change management, conflict management and facilitation. She received her undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and went on to receive her MBA at James Madison University. Maggie has a husband Steve. She enjoys reading, cycling and water-skiing.

Dean M. Jones
Senior Vice President of Financial Development
Dean is a 1982 graduate of Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina. He worked in the commercial lending division of Wachovia in Winston-Salem prior to joining the Development Office at Davidson, serving most recently as the Director of Development. Dean had a key staff role during the college’s $150 million fundraising campaign. He came to the YMCA in 2000 to lead the organization’s financial development department. Dean and his wife, Jane, have three children, Tanner, Nate and Sarah Grace.

Lynn Lomax
Senior Vice President/COO
Lynn, a native of China Grove, North Carolina, is a graduate of Appalachian State University. He began his YMCA career in 1983 as a Youth Sports Director for the Rowan County YMCA in Salisbury. Lynn joined the YMCA of Greater Charlotte in 1991 as Associate Branch Executive of Membership at the Harris YMCA. Today, oversees operations for all of the greater Charlotte YMCAs.

Melanie Pittman
Senior Vice President
Melanie, a native of eastern North Carolina, earned her undergraduate degree and MBA from East Carolina University. She joined the YMCA in 2000 to provide leadership for the organization’s marketing, communications and membership activities. Melanie has 15 years nonprofit marketing experience including seven years in the health care arena and six with the technology consortium, [TC] ². She has lead the development of integrated marketing and communication plans that leverage traditional as well as new media channels and has managed national and international press relations.
