Y READERS LITERACY PROGRAM

All Year 

Y Readers helps struggling first and second graders read at their grade level with six weeks of academic instruction during summer vacation and afterschool during the school year.  The academy has been successful by improving the outcome for students who might otherwise fall behind.  Volunteer to read to students, help them with their homework or learn new basic reading skills.
      

STRATFORD RICHARDSON YMCA

All Year 

The Stratford Richardson YMCA serves Charlotte's West corridor providing a fun and safe environment for kids and teens through AfterschoolSummer Camp and youth sports programs, as well as a group of Active Older Adults who share in common interests and passions.  Volunteer to help kids and teens with homework afterschool, coach a youth sports team or help with events and programs for Active Older Adults. 
    

CORPORATE CUP HALF-MARATHON & 5K

March 2013 

Corporate Cup is a half-marathon and 5K road race designed to encourage healthy competition in the Uptown Charlotte community while supporting the Childress Klein YMCA's Community Support Campaign.  More than 3,000 participate each year and we are looking forward to another full event in 2013.  Volunteers are needed to help in the weeks leading up the race, as well as on race day.   
  

CENTER CITY YMCA GOLF TOURNAMENT

May 2013

The Center City YMCA Golf Tournament was held at Carolina Golf Club in 2012.  More than 200 golfers joined us for a full day on the course enjoying fellowship and supporting the Community Support Campaigns of the Center City YMCAs.  Volunteers are needed the day of the tournament.
