Overview

Private Swim Lessons

  • Private lessons cannot be offered during Saturday morning group swim lessons. We ask that unless your child has a specific need or a time issue, please try a group session prior to requesting private lessons
  • All payments for lessons should be made at the Member Service Desk prior to the first lesson.  A receipt must be given to the instructor at the time of the first lesson
  • Cancelations must be made 24 hours in advance of scheduled lesson

Drop-in Child Care   

  • We currently accept reservations, which are taken on a first-come, first served basis. You may call 24 hours in advance to secure your reservation - 704 716 6124  
  • YMCA members may use drop-in care only while they are on-site or otherwise easily accessible and only for a maximum of two hours per visit, four hours total in a 24-hour time period
  • Drop-In Child Care is only available to Y members with an association membership. The child must be an active member on the adult's membership to use Drop-In Child Care
  • All babies need to be fed and  changed before coming to Drop-in Child Care. It is required for infants that a diaper bag with diapers and wipes is left with the Drop-in Child Care staff and all belongings must be labeled.  Children in the process of being potty trained must wear a pull-up while in Drop-in Child Care.  No cloth diapers accepted
  • Parents may not leave the premises on personal errands while their child is in Drop-in Child Care
  • If a child exhibits any signs of illness (i.e. runny nose or eyes, coughing, fever, etc.) they will not be allowed to stay in Drop-in Child Care
  • Please DO NOT bring food or drinks into Drop-in Child Care
  • The YMCA is committed to helping children solve problems through healthy discipline tools, including redirection, encouraging the use of words, sharing, waiting turns and age appropriate time out
  • Short–term, drop–in childcare centers are not licensed and regulated by the State Department of Child Development. All YMCA of Greater Charlotte childcare programs adhere to YMCA quality standards

   
Children may not participate in the following programs or a combination of the following programs for more than four hours in a 24-hour period in a Charlotte YMCA or combination of Charlotte YMCAs:

  • Children's Enrichment Programs
  • Unlicensed Preschool Drop-in Child Care (drop–in care)
  • Unlicensed Afterschool  

Yoga Policies

  • You must bring your YMCA membership ID into each class
  • For sanitary reasons we do not provide yoga mats; please bring your own 
  • Yoga mats are available for purchase in the YMCA ProShop

Please be respectful of the following Yoga Etiquette and Guidelines

  • If you arrive late for class, enter quietly and position yourself in an empty spot nearest to the door
  • Electronic equipment is distracting and should not be used during class.  If you are "on call" medical staff please set-up nearest to the door, place your phone/pager on vibrate and exit quietly to take calls
  • Conversations are welcome and encouraged before and after class but prohibited during class
