R.O.S.E. Award

1st QUARTER ROSE AWARD RECIPIENTS

CHILDRESS KLEIN | Janis Smith

Janis is such a caring person. I feel like she will go above and beyond to make every experience worth your while. She is such a GREAT motivator in everyday life and in her class. She will help people push themselves to their limits. She proved this at the Corporate Cup Race. Anything that you ask of her she will make it happen. Just watching her loop our 5K course more than 4 times at Corporate Cup should seal her win.  However, it is her consistent service excellence to our members and to her group ex staff.  She has taken our programs to a new level and all branches should replicate whatever she does to make that happen!  Seeing her numbers spike for a Monday evening AC class is another testament to her work.  For more than 2 years we have tried to find a successful class to serve our group ex participants on such a busy night for exercise.  She made it happen and I had the chance to witness it on Monday!  I watch her and she always is thinking about the other staff and what they are going through and goes that extra mile to do something nice for them to cheer them up. Also she really what the YMCA is about in showing the members she cares her actions speak for themselves .  She always makes me smile.

DOWD | Trina Hirst

Trina Hirst

I nominate Trina Hirst for multiple reasons!  Trina has been a huge asset to the Dowd YMCA Drop-in Childcare.  Trina is creative, a go getter, leader, etc., not only in Drop-in Childcare but in her daily life.  Trina has a heart of GOLD and goes out of her way to do good for others!  She is compassionate, empathetic, caring, loving
and genuine to all she knows! She is the first one to jump in and say I can do it or what else can we do!  She brings ideas and solutions to the table whenever needed or asked.  She is a valuable team-member of the Dowd Drop-in Childcare (more than she realizes).  We never have to doubt when Trina is present that things will be done the quality way. She brings life to Drop-in Childcare amongst parents, kids, staff, and members. Trina is the most deserving of the ROSE Award in my opinion because she exemplifies what the YMCA is all about!

GATEWAY VILLAGE | Kristen Stockton

Kristen Stockton

I would like to nominate Kristen Stockton on behalf of Gateway Village.  The amazing work that Kristen does behind the scenes often goes unnoticed. For example, she graciously took on the responsibility of recruiting and organizing volunteers for Corporate Cup – no easy task. And this was on top of all the work she was already doing with the race
website and marketing efforts. From preparing volunteer goody bags to troubleshooting registration problems on the website to recognizing Corporate Teams on Facebook, Kristen's behind-the-scenes work on Corporate Cup helped make it one of the most successful races to-date. I'm continually impressed by her work ethic and commitment to excellence. Her servant leader mentality is apparent in her work as she's always willing to go the extra mile and put in the extra time to ensure that our members receive the very best in marketing and communication. Kristen is an incredible asset to the marketing team and our entire YCommunity!

STRATFORD RICHARDSON | Veronie Gamble

Veronie Gamble

I would like to nominate Veronie Gamble for The ROSE Award.  She has been a great asset to the membership team here at the Stratford Richardson YMCA. Mrs. Gamble has brought the level of customer service and friendly atmosphere to our front desk. Members love her welcoming way, she greets every member with a warm smile and very
up beat hello everyday. Mrs. Veronie is our opener and the members in the morning are so impressed with her upbeat spirit, and has given me great notes on how wonderful it is to come into the branch to such an up beat person. It makes them get pumped to start their workout. Mrs. Veronie has repeatedly been in our 100 Club on our secret shops and all customer surveys. To a large part the success that Membership has had this first quarter is attribute Mrs. Veronie.  This is a typical day at the Y for Mrs. Verona; she opens the branch at 5:15 AM until 1:00 PM, then comes back to volunteer as a coach in our youth sports program from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and then works out until 8:00 PM. On many occasions she has stopped by the desk and helped out with members by giving tours and helping teammates when things gets busy.  We here at the Stratford Richardson YMCA feel that Mrs. Veronie is a true example of what the ROSE Award is all about.
