Harris YMCA

George Williams Award

Congratulations to Charley McNealy the Harris YMCA George Williams Award Winner.

Charley and his family have been active members of the Harris YMCA since 1994. A longtime volunteer, he began as a soccer coach and is now a dedicated contributor and leader to our board of managers, serving tirelessly on the finance, facilities and executive committees. Charley has also been a mentor and friend to staff over the years, challenging us to see things differently and guiding us in ways to improve and be better stewards of our resources. Charley is well-respected at the branch and association levels and has always approached his role as a volunteer with honesty, generosity, passion and dedication.

George Williams Award
In 1844, George Williams founded the first YMCA in London for the purpose of offering mutual encouragement in the Christian faith. His goal was to establish a world of sacrifice and service. Annual awards are given by YMCA branches in memory of George Williams and in recognition of the outstanding volunteer service of those who come after him.

YMCA Mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
