Safe Sitter Certification

Is your child interested in becoming a babysitter? Join us in our Safe Sitter Certification course! Your 11-14 year old will learn the details of becoming a "safe sitter" with our certified Wellness and Fitness directors.

Safe Sitter Classes are held in the Thompson Family Community Room located inside the Morrison Family YMCA branch. Participants are encouraged to bring a packed lunch or a snack.

In our Safe Sitter Certification course, participants will gain confidence and learn how to handle situations that may arise while babysitting.

Our directors will teach participants:

  • First Aid
    • Injury Prevention
    • Diagnosing Injuries
    • How to get help
  • Behavior Issues
    • Knowing when to call the parents
    • Toddler, Preschool and School age Behaviors
  • How to keep yourself safe when Babysitting
  • How to run your Babysitting business
  • And MUCH MORE!

To register, stop by the Morrison Family YMCA and speak with one of our Member Services staff!

Private Safe Sitter Class
Do you have a group of children who have an interest in becoming top notch babysitters? Purchase a private class of Safe Sitter training for your Girl Scout Group, birthday party, or neighborhood to learn and grow together! For grades 6th-10th.

Fee - $440
(Safe Sitter Class contains 8 participants.
Additional participants will be an additional $20.)
