In our Arts Camps, participants will have the opportunity to explore their creative sides through arts and crafts, drama, ceramics, digital art and so much more! Before care is available beginning at 7:00 AM and after care is available until 6:00 PM at no additional charge.

Comedy Improv - Whose line is it now? Children will learn the basics of comedy improv through a side-splitting set of games and activities in the style of the television show "Whose Line is it Anyway?" A guaranteed laugh out loud performance for families and friends.

In the Spotlight - An introduction to musical theatre! Using music from popular Broadway shows, children will learn dances and song for a musical revue extravaganza performance for families and friends at the end of the week.

Performance Camp - This is a performance technique class for 5th-12th graders. Students will learn all aspects of performance. They will adapt scenes from some of the funnist "restaurant" bits ranging from "Monty Python" to Shakespeare. Students will act, direct, produce and tech all aspects of the show.

Ballantyne Cabaret - Let's inaugurate the new space with an evening of vaudeville, sketch comedy and cabaret inspired musical performances! Can you sing? Can you act? Can you dance? Come and join the cabaret! This camp will consist of a week of rehearsals culminating in a Friday evening performance in the new space!

Landing the Role - Want to get cast in the next show you audition for? Learn how to audition like the pros! Monologues, acting styles, audition practices and scene work will be covered in this workshop. Campers will end the week with a professional audition mock up for the parents and friends. (No prior acting experience required)

Audition Intensive - This camp is designed with an emphasis on audition styles and techniques for area theatre and high schools, with a special emphasis on auditions for scholarships at colleges and universities. Campers will develop several monologues over the course of the week in preparation for statewide auditions at the North Carolina Theatre Conference and regional auditions at the South Eastern Theatre Conference. Performances will also be held at the end of the week for family and friends.

Improv & Sketch Comedy - Campers will spend the week learning improv and sketch (scripted) comedy in the style of "The Second City" and "Saturday Night Live". You'll learn a variety of techniques that focus on the technical aspects of comedic performance, with a high emphasis on team building and leadership. This camp is designed for performers, so come prepared to show your stuff!

Arts & Craft Camp
Learn what it means to be creative. Campers will experiment with several kinds of crafts while creating original projects that they will bring home at the end of the week.

Drama Camp
Love to perform? Let your true colors shine as you learn to take on dramatic roles. Session 2 campers will be working from the classic Peter Pan and Session 4 will work from the High School Musical trilogy. Campers will do everything from set building to line memorization and performing. (Grades 3rd-5th)
