Afterschool Central is your one-stop information center providing all the details you need to help you understand our program’s procedures, policies, schedules and more. We strive to create a hassle-free experience where parents feel secure about their kids in our care. Take a moment to review this information and set your child up for a wonderful year of learning, growth and fun. Transportation
We offer an Afterschool transportation connection service to safely transport students from school to the Y. Your child will be picked up at their registered school and taken to the YMCA daily for either the Afterschool program. Only certain schools have accessibility to transportation services. After you register for the program with the Y, CMS families must complete an alternate stop request form for your child. Alternate Stop Request Form >>

Supply List
We encourage your child to bring a water bottle and dress in comfortable clothing. For the first day of school, we ask your child to bring a few communal supplies:
  • 1 package of sharpened pencils
  • 1 container of Clorox disinfectant wipes
  • 1 package of lined paper 
Apart from that, every day, they simply need to bring what they take to school: a book bag, homework, appropriate materials needed to complete homework, etc. Please label everything your child is bringing to and from the Y and leave all electronics at home. We are not responsible for anything that is lost, stolen or broken during the program.
 
Schedule
SAMPLE DAY SCHEDULE
  • Buses arrive to the Y from school between 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM depending on the school or district
  • Children who arrive prior to 3:30 PM will have time to play while waiting for other schools to begin homework
  • Homework will begin at 3:30 PM
  • We wrap up homework by 4:15 PM and transition to Electives
  • Pick up begins at 4:30 PM and ends at 6 PM
ELECTIVES
Elective are like clubs that are changed every two weeks. The children enjoy electives because they can develop a new skill. Examples of electives are crafts, fitness, dodge-ball, soccer, swimming, etc.
 
IMPORTANT DATES
School closures, teacher workdays and holiday breaks will be communicated via car line or by phone when they are coming up.
 
Food
Food / Snack Info
Please send a snack and a refillable water bottle each day with your child. We do not provide a snack. The Lowe’s Y is a peanut-sensitive facility and we ask that you do not send peanut products.  
 
Pick Up 
Pick up begins at 4:30 PM and ends at 6:00 PM.
  • If you pick your child up before 4:30 PM, you must walk into the Y to get your child.
  • The car line begins at 4:30 PM, where staff will bring your child out to you. 
AUTHORIZATION
A photo ID must be presented at pick-up. The person in the car line must also be on the emergency contact list through the front desk with a name and phone number attached. Please also make sure your information is correct and current and that parents and guardians names are listed as emergency contacts.

REGISTRATION
Afterschool registrations are processed on a first-come, first served basis:
  • YMCA Member Registration began April 1, 2017
  • Program Participant Registration began April 15, 2017
REGISTRATION FEES 
  • YMCA Member Registration Fee: $25
  • Program Participant Fee: $50
Please visit the Sales & Service Center at Lowe’s YMCA to complete your child’s registration. It takes 2 business days to process paperwork from the time it is received.

TUITION RATES
  • $15.75 a day for Members
  • $18 a day for Program Participants
PAYMENT
Tuition is paid through a draft of your account on the 15th of the month. A 30-day cancellation policy is in effect for all cancellations or changes.
 
PROGRAM ADJUSTMENT RATE
As part of our My Y Pricing rate structure, an adjusted program rate is available to all who qualify. Both Members and Program Participants must provide income verification at the Sales & Service Center in order to receive an adjusted program rate. All program rate adjustments are subject to branch specific, program-specific caps. Standard rates are set by each individual branch.
