Family Time

Serving families has always been at the heart of the Y. We are a place where they can find respite from social, economic and educational challenges, and learn how to overcome them. We have a fundamental desire to provide opportunities for every family to build stronger bonds, achieve greater work/life balance, and become more engaged with their communities.

Y-Guides

A great way to get involved is to participate in Y-Guides.  Y-Guides is a father-child program which helps direct children toward making healthy choices that will enhance their spirit, mind and body. The program also helps children build positive relationships, develop critical life skills and become servant leaders.

Each local Y-Guides program organizes fun activities for large and small groups. Families are placed into "Tribes" - groups of 8-10 families that live in the same area. Tribes meet twice a month, rotating to different homes of members. Dates and times are chosen by each tribe to fit schedules.  Meeting activities include games, songs, crafts, stories and refreshments. Tribe outings may include hiking, camping, family cookouts and community service projects.

Special Events are a highlight for any Y-Guides participant. These adventurous activities include fall and spring Longhouse weekends, camping trips which include archery, horseback riding, canoeing, fishing, swimming and hiking. Other activities are Princess Date Nights, Parades, Sleepouts and much more.
