THEIR POTENTIAL

GIVE A CHILD THE CHANCE TO PLAY.
When kids play sports, they develop skills beyond the field.  Through healthy competition kids can discover their personal best, have fun and be a part of a team.  Modeling fairness, cooperation and hard work, our volunteer coaches recognize achievements, large and small, and understand that winning isn't just about the score.  By playing sports, kids and their families feel a sense of belonging that comes from a community gathering together to cheer on their team.

HELP A CHILD LEARN TO SWIM.
Children under five and adolescents between the ages of 15-24 have the highest drowning rates.*  At the Y, we believe the ability to swim is a critical life skill for every child and teen.  In swim lessons, we use a variety of fun methods to help kids overcome fears, build confidence in the water and develop skills that last a lifetime.  Qualified, well-trained instructors meet kids at their own level, help families set achievable goals and celebrate all successes.  By educating and partnering with parents, we're determined to prevent drowning in our community.

GIVE THEM A PLACE TO GROW
YMCA Day Camp provides youth with supervised activities that teach core values, conflict resolution and leadership skills.  Kids have fun while building self-confidence, appreciating teamwork and gaining independence. Camp BoomerangTM is an inclusion based summer day camp for typical children and children with autism ages 5-15.  All campers will participate side by side in age appropriate activities that include nature, parachute, field sports, low ropes, tower, fishing, swimming, devotions, and arts and crafts.  In addition, campers take part in specialized enrichment activities several times a week. Support staff (peer buddies, two-on-one staffing and one-on-one staffing) can be provided to children with autism.
