Camp Boomerang for Children with Diverse Abilities

AN INCLUSION-BASED CAMP FOR NEUROTYPICAL CHILDREN AND CHILDREN WITH DIVERSE ABILITIES.

Camp Boomerang™ immerses children with diverse abilities (ages 5 - 17) into the conventional summer day camp experience at the Brace Family YMCA. All campers participate side by side in age appropriate activities, sports and fitness.  These activities include fishing, field sports, tower, swimming, archery, arts and crafts and much more. In addition, campers take part in specialized enrichment activities several times per week.

In accordance with YMCA camping guidelines, campers must be fully toilet trained (not in pull-ups or diapers) to participate in any Camp Boomerang™ program and must not have any significant behavioral issues.

Registration will begin February 1 for YMCA of Greater Charlotte members and February 15 for non-members. Completing the Brace Family YMCA Day Camp Registration and Camp Boomerang™ Camper Registration Form is required. At this time, a $10 deposit per week will be required to secure your camper’s spot. Applications can be picked up at the Brace Family YMCA front desk – there is no online or email registration at this time.
