YOUTH FITNESS

 
ACTIVE KIDS | Grades K - 5
This free class is offered to our elementary school aged members. During this Physical Education type class, your child will participate in age-appropriate gross motor skill drills and games along with fun-filled activities intended to nurture a lifelong commitment to fitness and physical activity.  

CORE CONNECTIONS | Grades 2 - 5
This class emphasizes the importance of building a strong core while maximizing mobility.  Your child will use foam rolling and dynamic stretching to improve flexibility and mobility along with body weight exercises to improve core and overall body strength. Core Connections is intended for kids who are just starting their fitness journey, as well as kids who would like to take their performance to the next level.  

CROSSFIT KIDS | Grades 2 - 5
CrossFit Kids introduces kids to age-appropriate movements and exercises that assist in maximizing physical skills, self-confidence and body awareness. CrossFit Kids aims to make exercise fun and to help your young athlete move better, safer and more effectively. Classes include a warm-up, skill work, workout and game. CrossFit Kids enhances a child's motor skills by teaching better movement and cognitive skills through engaging children during their workouts, which are scaled appropriately for their age. This class augments your child's involvement in sports by incorporating strength and conditioning to improve on their overall athleticism. 

FITNESS & NUTRITION MADE FUN | Grades K - 5
Fitness & Nutrition Made Fun introduces kids to age-appropriate exercises and activities intended to nurture a lifelong commitment to fitness. In addition to the fun-filled fitness activities, each session will also focus on making better nutrition choices to fuel growing bodies and how nutrients from food impact physical activity and well-being.  

JUMP BUNCH | Preschool
Jump Bunch introduces your preschooler to age-appropriate gross motor skills and fun-filled activities intended to nurture a lifelong commitment to fitness and physical activity.  

NINJA WARRIOR | Grades 2 - 5
This class introduces kids to high-energy conditioning through indoor and outdoor obstacle courses and workouts designed to challenge their body and spirit. Expect your child to swing, jump, crawl, climb, pull, and run to conquer new obstacles and maximize physical skills and self-confidence.  

RUNNING | Grades 2 - 5
Running incorporates speed drills, hill climbs, distance running, along with proper running form and stretching techniques to help your child reach their running and sports performance goals.  
   

TEEN FITNESS

CROSSFIT JV AND VARSITY | Grades 6 - 12
This strength and conditioning program is designed for 6th - 12th grade athletes and non-athletes alike. We combine gymnastics, body weight calisthenics, and light weightlifting with high intensity training to develop capacity across the ten general physical skills: Cardiovascular and Respiratory Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance and Accuracy. With workouts that are scalable for all, CrossFit JV/Varsity can equally benefit both the accomplished athlete as well as the less active individual. In addition to working out, our program will teach our young athletes the value of focus, perseverance, dedication, and motivation.

FITNESS CLINICS | Ages 10 - 14 
Fitness Clinics focus on different drills and exercises that children can add to their workout routines while also learning to use various equipment on the Morrison Family YMCA fitness floor.

OBSTACLE COURSE CONDITIONING | Grades 6 - 8
Obstacle Course Conditioning introduces kids to high-energy conditioning through indoor and outdoor obstacle courses and workouts designed to challenge their body and spirit. Expect your child to swing, jump, crawl, climb, pull, and run to conquer new obstacles and maximize physical skills and self-confidence.  

TEEN EX | Grades 6 - 12
Teen Ex classes are specifically designed group exercise classes that encourage exercise and wellness for grades 6th - 12th. Classes will incorporate a variety of fitness activities in cardio, strength, and flexibility through monthly class rotations.
