Frequently Asked Questions about the Corporate Cup
How do I form a Corporate Team?
You simply collect race entries and registration fees from people around your office and submit them collectively under one team name. A minimum of three runners per team is required with no maximum. Teams must include their company name on the entry form with the appropriate team division indicated. For increased recognition and team morale, you can enter our corporate team t-shirt design contest as well as have a table on our Corporate Row at the finish line on race day.
Why should I form a Corporate Team?
A corporate team can serve as an instant team-building tool for your work group as well as support a great cause and it's FUN! Your company receives recognition through our t-shirt contest, corporate row set up at the finish line, recognition of winners in next years race brochure and most importantly shows great community support and involvement!
What does it cost?
Race registration fees are the same for corporate teams and individuals.
Does it take a lot of time?
No! Simply promote the race around your office and try to get as many folks to participate as possible. Submit all race registrations together under one team name.

What is Corporate Row?
A row of tables set up to display participating companies information and showcase corporate participants.
- Corporate teams with 20 or more runners receive a complimentary Corporate Team Table at Corporate Row and the team captain receives a CoolMax shirt.
- Corporate teams with less than 20 runners receive $20 towards a Corporate Team Table at Corporate Row. The total cost for a table is $100.

What is the Corporate T-shirt Design Contest?
You are able to enter our Corporate Cup t-shirt design contest if your office forms a corporate team. We can provide you with t-shirt vendors and printing companies to assist you in creating your team shirt. Prizes will be awarded for best team shirt. (Another great team-building tool and way to get your company logo and name recognized as a community supporter!)
What is the deadline for Corporate Team T-Shirt Designs?
February 27, 2008 at 12:00 PM to Kristina Hill. Designs can be dropped off at the Childress Klein YMCA or e-mailed to kristina.hill@ymcacharlotte.org
Are there rewards for corporate teams?
Yes. Top three teams in each of the three divisions below:
- Division 1: Less than 100 employees
- Division 2: 100-999 employees
- Division 3: 1,000+ employees
- T-Shirt Design Award
How is a relay team different from a corporate team?
Relay teams consist of three runners all running a portion of our half-marathon. Corporate teams can be as large as you'd like and each person on a corporate team can participate in their event of choice: the 5K, Half-Marathon or three employees can form a relay team.
How do I form a half marathon relay team?
Relay teams must consist of three different runners. All team members must register together or entry forms will be returned and there is no online registration allowed. Relay teams may consist of all men, all women, or mixed. Runners must provide their own transportation to relay sites.
What is the distance for each runner in the half marathon relay?
- First leg is a 5K (3.1 miles)
- Second leg is five miles
- Third leg is five miles
Can I register individually?
Yes. Participants can enter as individuals and compete for overall or age division awards, or just for fun. You do not have to be on a company team. See age divisions and individual awards below.
What are the age divisions?
- 14 & under (5K)
- 15 - 19 (5K)
- 19 & under (half marathon)
- 20 - 24
- 25 - 29
- Five year increments to 70+
What are the individual & relay team awards?
Awards will be given for the 5K and half marathon as follows:

Top five overall male and female

Top three overall male and female masters (40+)

Top three male and female baby jogger (5K only)

Top three finishers in each age division, male and female

Top three relay teams (male, female and mixed)
Awards will be held at Run For Your Life for two weeks after race date and then returned to the Childress Klein YMCA
