Through a staff fundraising drive and a Corporate Health Partners Fitness Challenge FairPoint Communications has contributed over $52,000 to the Dowd and Stratford Richardson YMCA Community Outreach Campaign. At FairPoint they believe it is important to invest in individual health and well-being while investing in the community where they live and work.
To implement this philosophy they teamed up with the Dowd YMCA and the CMC Health Center to participate in our first ever Corporate Health Partners Fitness Challenge. Based on the achievement of challenge participants FairPoint made a donation to the YMCA Community Outreach Campaign. In this challenge, employees earned points for strength training, cardiovascular training, visits to the Y, and percentage of weight loss. At the end of the three month challenge FairPoint employees earned enough points to award the YMCA a gift of $15,000. That gift combined with their staff fundraising, in which the company made a matching gift, generated a total gift of $52,856.
