Fitness Appointment

Maybe you're brand new to exercise - or you've been here before and could use a refresher. Either way, taking advantage of your fitness appointment (free with your membership) is a great step toward better health. Certified health and wellness experts will provide you with general exercise guidelines and introduce you to a variety of options including cardiovascular and strength training equipment. In 1 - 2 appointments you will be prepared for exercise on your own.
Who knows - maybe there's an exercise you haven't tried. Studies show you're more likely to stick with your exercise routine if you find something you enjoy. |

- Resting heart rate
- Body compositions
- Muscle strength and endurance
- Flexibility
- Cardio respiratory capacity testing

The Dowd YMCA’s Fitness Center is comprised of state-of-the-art equipment and a knowledgeable, friendly staff to help you meet your goals. The Dowd YMCA: - Brings you the latest FreeMotion and the newest line of Nautilus resistance equipment
- Provides supervision and guidance seven days a week during all operating hours
- Offers appointments to teach proper form, technique and exercise safety to enhance your results
- Provides complimentary fitness training appointments until you feel comfortable and can exercise safely (up to six lessons)
- Review of workouts are available every 18 visits
