YMCA Skyline Afterschool provides a quality, Christian-based experience that is fun and safe for your child. Skyline Afterschool is offered on a two, three or five day per week session and registration is required. Our program includes:
- Homework time
- Daily snacks
- Daily devotion
- Outdoor group activities
- Cultural Arts
- Science Club
- Arts & Crafts
- Care for teacher workdays & school holidays
Regular Program Hours
Afterschool begins at 2:00 PM and goes until 6:00 PM. If a child is not picked up by 6:00 PM a late fee will be assessed at a rate of $5.00 for the first ten minutes and $1.00 per additional minute.

Our Afterschool Program is held at the First Ward Recreational Center in Uptown Charlotte. The center is located at 610 East 7th Street, Charlotte, NC, 28202 and the phone number is (704) 336-3375.
Ages Served
The YMCA Afterschool program serves current kindergarten through 5th graders. Pre-K from Park Road Montessori ONLY.
Transportation
The YMCA will provide transportation in YMCA vans from the following schools:
- Dilworth Elementary
- Park Road Montessori
- Pinewood Elementary
School buses from these schools will drop children off at the First Ward Recreational Center:
- Chantilly Montessori
- Eastover Elementary
- Elizabeth Traditional Elementary
- First Ward Elementary
- Irwin Avenue Elementary
- Myers Park Traditional
- Selwyn Elementary
- Smith Academy
Safe and Easy Pick-up:
Parents must come inside to sign the child out and present a valid ID and code word.
