Christian Emphasis

The mission of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte is. "To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all." The YMCA has a Christian Emphasis committee that considers how to emphasize the Christian principles of the YMCA through a variety of programs, events, and initiatives. If you are looking to cultivate your own spirit or make a positive difference in your YMCA community, inquire about Christian Emphasis at our Member Services Desk. Be sure to check out the monthly devotion.
Weekly Bible Study starts back in September! Join us the 2nd & 4th Thursdays of the month. We meet at 12:00 PM in the Harris Conference Room. Contact Ken Schultz for more information.
Meet our Volunteer Chaplain, Randy Forrester! Randy's relationship with the Harris YMCA encompasses more than his role as Volunteer Chaplain. He and his family moved to Charlotte and settled in the area surrounding the Harris campus. The Forrester's are members of the Y and Randy also serves as Senior Pastor of King of Kings, a church which meets in the gym of the Harris Y on Sundays at 10 AM. Randy has a passion to pray for the Harris YMCA family and desires to see members of this community grow healthy in spirit (as well as in body and mind) through the transforming love of Jesus Christ. Randy or a member of the King of Kings' Prayer Team is available to meet with you, talk with you and pray for you. You may contact Randy by turning in a Prayer Request Card to his attention or leaving him a voicemail at (704) 856-9686.
