Castonia and Anthony Dozier are the Owners of the NewPoint Learning Center: Myers Park - South Park. This center opened in August 2010. Castonia is a native of Richmond, VA and Anthony is a native of Columbia, SC. They have resided in the Charlotte area for 12 years to date.

After obtaining their respective engineering degrees from NC State, Castonia and Anthony decided to pursue a career in corporate workplace. This path lead them to work with in a variety of capacities in academia as well as information technology, but the most rewarding above all is their teaching experiences. For Castonia, she taught with ECPI Technical College. At ECPI, Castonia developed a passion for education and openly accepted the responsibility of shaping the minds of our youth ensuring that each of her students would succeed in not only overcoming academic challenges, but also personal challenges which may veer students off the path of reaching their goals. As for Anthony, it was inevitable for him to teach/tutor as he discovered his passion for education and a thirst for knowledge growing up with parents in the education field.

Both Castonia and Anthony also express their passion for education and commitment to give back to the community through dedicated post as Scout Leader and Sports Coach. They have been blessed to have two children, daughter Simone age 14 and son Cary age 10. As engaged parents, they ensure that their kids are successful in education and well-rounded by participating in sports and scouts.

In their free time they enjoy watching NFL football, relaxing with a good book, or challenging the kids in a game of Scrabble.

As owners of NewPoint, their vision for the center is that the Center will be able to provide a holistic solution to every child's educational needs. This goal will be achieved by developing a customized and individualized educational plan for each of our students. With this approach, students will gain confidence which will be reflective in their future endeavors and parents will gain a peace of mind.

NewPoint and Harris YMCA began an incredible partnership last year. The partnership exemplifies excellent synergies between the organizations by providing exceptional educational programming to the community. NewPoint offers professional tutoring services on the Harris YMCA campus for students in grades K – 12 in small group as well as individual sessions.
