The YMCA is here for you during difficult times. Here are some new ways the YMCA is addressing the community’s needs:
1. The YMCA is opening its doors to people who have lost their jobs by providing a free 30-day membership.
2. The YMCA has substantially reduced its joining fee to $25.
3. The YMCA has restructured its financial assistance program to ensure those in need get immediate access.
While the economy is in turmoil, the YMCA is a place where members find stress relief, fellowship, networking and family time.
Stress Relief
“Last September I refocused with motivation from Y staff. I mixed up my routine more – taking cycling, athletic conditioning/cardio sculpt, yoga, zumba and cardio funk. I have lost 30 pounds since September and I’m at the smallest size I have been since Middle School! I feel better, stronger, more confident. I love coming to the gym and releasing stress.” – YMCA Member, Jean Murphy
Over 300 yoga and Pilates classes available to choose from in one week!
Family Time
Sonja Herbert and her family recently rejoined the University City YMCA. She completed her first 5K in June and hopes to complete a triathlon in the future. When asked why she returned to the Y, her response was “My entire family can participate in the activities the YMCA offers. There is something for each of us to get involved with and you can’t find that anywhere else.” – YMCA Member, Sonja Herbert
Find family time this summer at the YMCA’s indoor pools and Waterparks.
Networking Opportunities
“Since joining the Y, I’ve participated in the Weight Management & Medical Referral programs and the Job Placement Seminar. Exercising my body and spirit has led to an improvement in my overall health and attitude. I’ve learned to set goals that keep me on track. My current goal is to fit into my suit for my next job interview!” – YMCA Member, Mike Troncellito
