Are you a cancer patient or cancer survivor? Check out these groups and meetings where you can connect with others.

Quest is a program that includes exercise sessions, nutritional information, a personal exercise plan, nurse consultations as well as education and relaxation classes.  The cost is covered by a grant from the Blumenthal Cancer Center and is open to all patients in the community.

"The Quest program gave me a place to be with other folks who were going through similar situations related to cancer. We could relate to the craziness of it all. With the support of the group, you were around people who knew what you were talking about and knew what you had been through. When you said, my bones hurt, they understood what that meant. The instructors, being nurses, understood what we had been through and were compassionate. And the Y offered this facility to start with the basics; chair aerobics, pilates and swimming."

Look Good...Feel Better is a free service sponsored by the American Cancer Society which teaches cancer patients hands-on cosmetic techniques to help them cope with appearance-related side effects from chemotherapy and radiation treatments, provided by certified/trained cosmetologists. This is a non-medical service that does not promote any cosmetic product line. Group classes and one-on-one services are available, depending on the area.

Breast Cancer Support Group is a group that meets at the Lowe's YMCA in Mooresville. Join us in support of women and their care givers who have been or are going through Breast Cancer.
