The Johnston YMCA impacts our community through the following programs and services:
Program Support
Day Camp: Serves 200 per week each summer; 92% of campers receive financial assistance.
Afterschool: Provides 68 children a safe and enriching environment; 97% of afterschool children receive financial assistance.
Senior Nutrition Program: Provides more than 80 seniors with a meal Monday through Friday.
Johnston YMCA Arts Studio: Serves as a community hub for enhancing the arts experience for neighborhood children and connecting families through arts education programs.
Literacy
GED preparation, job skills training and family literacy programs: Serves 100 participants per day.
English as a Second Language (ESL) and Latino Services
English as a Second Language classes: Serves 35-40 students weekly, including family literacy classes and discounted childcare for participants.
