Jeffrey Palmer has been a member of the Johnston YMCA Board of Managers for one year.  Almost 13 years ago Jeff relocated to Charlotte from New York and was looking for a way to give back to his new community.  “The YMCA enhances people’s spirit, mind and bodies.  Being asked to serve on the Johnston Board of Managers is another affirmation from God that He has more for me to do.”

Jeff started volunteering three years ago as a school age tutor and now assists adults in the GED lab.  “I have experienced great joy in serving others.  The looks of thanks, gratitude and encouraging words that you give and receive are immeasurable.”   Jeff currently sits on the Johnston strategic planning and marketing committees.  “We are richly rewarded when we operate beyond our own selfish words. Ask yourself what I ask myself daily….What have you added to today?”
