The arts program at the Johnston YMCA provides an opportunity for participants of all ages to learn skills and techniques as well as new things about themselves and the world around them in a creative environment.
Come to the Johnston YMCA's Open Studio for a space to work on your project. Use our stamps, ink pads, paper cutters, resource library & more. Our studio features eight potter's wheels and a full sized kiln. We have tools for jewelry making, hand building with clay, painting, drawing, knitting, scrap booking, card making and more...Independent work is required as no instruction is included but Arts Staff will be on hand to help with technical issues regarding our equipment and tools. Ceramics participants must furnish their own clay & tools or purchase from Johnston. There will also be a nominal firing fee but glazes are included.
