Elementary Arts

Masquerade Ages 5-8 People create masks to conceal their identity. In this class you can try your hand at creating masks using a wide variety of methods and materials including collage, papier-mache, fabric, beads, and wire while investigating the history of the mask around the world. 4/1.5 Hour Sessions
Play-Full Puppetry Ages 5-8 Students will explore the rich history of puppetry across the globe. Both 2 and 3-dimensional puppet design and construction will be covered as well as script writing and puppet manipulation. The design process will be celebrated through a collaborative puppetry performance for family and friends on the last day of class. 4/1.5 Hour Sessions
Action Figures and Personal Superheroes Ages 8-12 Do you like to play sports, draw, skate, or read comics? Then join this action-packed class and learn to draw the figure in motion. Cold you use a superhero to help you through the troubles you run into in life? This class will allow you to invent and develop your very own superhero. We will focus on traditional character design and development techniques while building a personalized superhero. You will design a character, develop a look, and illustrate a comic book cover that promotes the powers of your new character. 4/1.5 Hour Sessions
