Johnston’s approach to day camp is a bit out of the ordinary. We are not a “traditional” camp and we are not a “specialty” camp. Instead, we fill each day and each week with practical and fun growing opportunities. In one day, your child may make turkey quesadilla wraps in cooking, create a stained glass window in art and play “Bug off!” in fitness. Older children may develop a new product for the marketplace complete with a business model and budget. Teens may visit local colleges or meet with local leaders to discuss hot social and political issues. Everyone has the opportunity to develop swimming skills, teamwork and character traits through highly interactive and challenging games and tasks. Field trips and free lunch are also a regular part of the camp season.
Needless to say, your child is in for a camp experience where few days are the same! With a little of everything for everyone, this should be a summer that is difficult to forget.
