Carolinas Medical Center partners with the YMCA of Greater Charlotte to provide preventive health care, health education and wellness programs to the community. A registered nurse is available at the Johnston YMCA to help enhance spirit, mind and body through disease prevention, health education, early detection of illness or injury and appropriate medical referral. The following services are available at no charge for members (unless otherwise indicated):
- Individual consultations with a registered nurse
- Body assessments
- Health evaluations and fitness prescription on referral from healthcare provider
- Health education and screenings
- Nutrition consultations
- Blood pressure monitoring
- Lab services including but not limited to blood glucose screenings, cholesterol screenings, lipid profiles and allergy shots (fees are associated with these services)
- Flu shots (fee associated with this service)
- Community Outreach programs
- Medical referral
