FUN, FAMILY & FIREWORKS

Ignite brighter possibilities with family fun, live entertainment and fireworks at the largest Independence Day celebration in the Lake Norman area - the Lowe's YMCA July 3rd Summer Celebration in Mooresville. We invite the entire community to join us for free family fun, kids games, inflatables, entertainment, vendors and, of course, fireworks!

NEW FOR 2014

This year, the Y has partnered with Bella Love and WSOC 103.7 to add live entertainment like never before. The July 3rd Summer Celebration will feature live music by three great local bands and will be co-hosted by 103.7 radio personalities. Continue reading for details.

IGNITING BRIGHTER POSSIBILITIES

More than fireworks

This year, the Lowe's YMCA is celebrating a decade of service to the Mooresville Community! Through programs such as day camp, after-school or swim lessons, youth sports and health and wellness, we are developing skills and values, and building life-long friendships. Our neighbors see our Y as a place to connect with one another in meaningful activities including service to those in need in our area.

The Lowe's YMCA July 3 Summer Celebration is our largest community event with 15-20,000 people in attendance and raising over $40,000 through sponsors.

This allows us to provide individuals and families a way to participate in any and all programs and membership, regardless of their ability to pay. Across the YMCA of Greater Charlotte, we grant over $750,000 in scholarships for our members annually. Over 30% of our afterschool children for instance, are on some level of financial assistance. We raise these funds through individual gifts, major donors, and sponsor-ships for our signature events like the Lowe's YMCA July 3 Summer Celebration.

LIVE ENTERTAINMENT: NEW FOR 2015

Now in our 10th year of celebrating community and country by providing a family-friendly precursor to July 4th festivities in the greater Lake Norman area, we appreciate the support of Randy Marion Automotive for sponsorship of the event and of the fireworks.

This year, the Y has partnered with Bella Love to add live entertainment like never before. The July 3rd Summer Celebration will feature live music by great local bands:

  • Statesville native Rockie Lynne will headline our event with local roots and tunes. Born in Iredell County to a strict Southern Baptist family, Rockie Lynne got his first guitar at age 12, and soon after he entered high school he was playing in jazz ensembles and various bands. After a career as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division, he spent time in California, South Carolina, Minnesota and Nashville where his love of music and hard work earned him tours, back-up acts, CDs and a loyal fan following. He signed with Universal South in 2006 and returns to Statesville for July 3 to celebrate with us.
  • Glass Hammers, who is making their second appearance at our event, is a Charlotte-area five-member band of young, talented musicians playing Classic Rock and Top 40. The group ranges in ages between 11-17 and has found a local following with a growing fan base across the Carolinas.
  • More bands are set to join us for July 3 and will be announced so you have time to plan ahead for the fun!
