Welcome to the Lake Norman YMCA Preschool Program. All of our classes are designed to develop each child's self-esteem and strong image of self-worth through learning and sharing in a fun, structured environment. Children are encouraged to explore, ask questions and solve problems in a warm, Christian setting. Activities include:

Adventurous One's - Ratio 1 to 4 (must be 14 months by October 15th, 2008)
We will entertain your child(ren) while offering a warm and loving environment for the children to feel safe and enjoy their time away from mommy and/or daddy. All children will need to be walking steady.

Our Two's program is an introduction to socialization and group activities. Children will develop self-control by learning how to follow directions, take turns and share. Simple shapes, colors and concepts will be introduced.

Terrific Three's - Ratio 1 to 7 (must be 3 by October 15, 2008)
The focus in the Three's class is to improve listening and language skills while developing knowledge of letters, numbers, colors, shapes and concepts. Scissor-readiness is encouraged at this level as is self-readiness (dressing & putting on shoes). The days of the week, seasons and weather are also emphasized. Children must be potty trained.

Fabulous Four's - Ratio 1 to 10 (must be 4 by October 15, 2008)
This class is designed to prepare children for transition into kindergarten while teaching letters, numbers and concepts. They will work individually on projects and also in small groups to help encourage problem solving and an appreciation for teamwork. Logical thinking, respecting classmates and teachers, gaining independence and tending to personal needs are fostered.
