Socials

Members and visitors make the Lake Norman YMCA a connection point for new friends and activities, enjoying not only fitness and recreation opportunities but also social fun like Bridge Fridays at 1:00 PM

Volunteer activities such as knitting or crocheting blankets with the Y-Warmers, become a center of social connection. The Y-Warmers donate their creations for those at the Crisis Pregnancy Center and Battered Women Shelter. Volunteer Adrienne Pederson, a native of England whose volunteer-knitting services were first tapped in World War II Britain, now clicks the needles at the Lake Norman Y. Although Pederson and her husband Ken have only been YMCA members for a few years, she has made herself indispensable in many volunteer roles, from compiling The Senior View newsletter to work for the Older, Wiser, Living Strong (OWLS) group as well as exercising in most Active Older Adults classes.
