5:00AM - 12:00 PM | One of the critical ingredients in a successful triathlon is volunteers. Volunteers make it possible to conduct a safe, well-organized event. In a triathlon, volunteers are needed in a variety of areas. In all cases, volunteers will find their task fun and exciting. At the end of the day, they'll feel like they made a valuable contribution to the success of the race. They will also feel appreciated - triathletes are known to be a very appreciative group. It won't be unusual for many participants to thank you for your contribution during the race. Almost all of our volunteers return the following year. You'll find the atmosphere to be electric. We will need over 100 volunteers to assist with this event that involves over 700 participants.

Are you looking for a way to boost staff morale? What better way than to volunteer as a group at one of our community events. Be a Corporate Volunteer!
The volunteer opportunities at the Lake Norman YMCA are varied. Here are a few possibilities:
Child Care/Preschool – Calling all kids at heart! Run, play, laugh and encourage our youngest YMCA members to have fun every visit!
Clerical Volunteers- The administrative staff can always use help with filing, mailings, and other special projects.
Special Events Committee Members- Join the staff in the organization of events and fundraisers that strengthen our community.
Sports Coaches- Enjoy a sport? Pass on what you know to our young athletes at the Y.
Membership Service- Gain great customer service experience and meet new people in your community. If you are some with a knack for a smile and going the extra mile, join our team as a membership desk assistant.
Afterschool Homework Buddy- Make a difference in a child’s life by using your skills and knowledge to help students achieve their goals.
Guest Speaker- Come share your knowledge and expertise with a group of YMCA members.
ESL (English as a Second Language) Volunteer- Are you passionate about your community, education and literacy? We are in need of volunteers to assist teachers as well as child care volunteers.
Philanthropy Volunteer- Join the crusade, become a foot solider for your Lake Norman YMCA. Come learn the Community Outreach story and be a part of this revolutionary movement to help support your community. The Lake Norman YMCA serves 140 children each year in afterschool and thousands more in day camp. %26 can afford this opportunity through program scholarships provided by donations.
The Lake Norman YMCA is thankful to have the support and dedication of hundreds of volunteers every year to support our work, our values, and our mission to build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. I would like to give a special thank you to all past, present and future volunteers.
