Swimming Lake Norman

We are swimming the length of Lake Norman!
History of Lake Norman:

  • Lake Norman is the largest manmade lake in North Carolina.

  • When filled to capacity, its surface area is 32,510 acres and has a shoreline of 520 miles.

  • The main channel is 31 miles in length

Start Swimming!!

  • July 1 - August 15, 2008 at your own pace!
  • Swim 31 miles or 992 laps.  You will need to track your own miles/laps.
  • It's FREE!!

How to get started:
Register at the member service desk. Keep track of your own miles. When you are finished, your name will go in for a drawing!

Cost:Free!!


Congratulations to our swimmers who finished our "Swim to Cuba" From January 2 - July 1, 2008 who swam 106 miles or 3,731 laps.
