“Dads & Kids Making Memories”

Y-Guides is a father/child program of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte that provides opportunities for fathers and children to spend quality Y-Guides bowlingtime together Making Memories. It is a program designed to help fathers and their children build strong, lasting relationships by fostering understanding and companionship.  Each local Y-Guides program organizes fun activities for large and small groups.

Purpose
– To help dads and children ages 5-12 build strong, lasting relationships. They do this by spending quality time together doing fun activities.

Family Programs – Families are placed into “Tribes” – a group of 8-10 families that live in the same area. Tribes meet twice a month, rotating to different Y-Guides Parademember’s homes. Dates and times are chosen by each tribe to fit into fathers’ schedule.

Activities – Meeting activities include games, songs, crafts, stories, and refreshments. Tribe outings may include hiking, camping, family cookouts, and community service projects.

Special Events – These adventurous activities include fall and spring Longhouse (weekend camping trips which include archery, horseback riding, canoeing, fishing, swimming, hiking), Princess Date Night, Parades, Winter sleepout at the YMCA, and much more.
