The Lowe's YMCA will become the twelfth branch of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte to form a partnership with Carolinas HealthCare System. The two organizations first joined forces in 1993 to provide preventative healthcare services to YMCA members and the greater Charlotte community. 

The partnership at the Lowe's YMCA follows an effective structure used at its sister YMCAs that includes a CMC Health and Wellness Center inside the branch that is staffed full time by a registered nurse. The health center at the Lowe's YMCA will be dedicated to enhancing spirit, mind and body through disease prevention, health education, early detection of illness or injury and physician referral. Services will include blood pressure monitoring, cholesterol screening, health consultations and other preventative healthcare screenings.

The CMC Health and Wellness Center at the Lowe's YMCA is scheduled to open on April 5, 2010.
