The YMCA currently supports more than 26,000 individuals with financial assistance. Last year close to 18% of our members were served with financial assistance. If you have recently experienced a life change such as job loss or increased medical expenses, you are not alone! The YMCA is here to serve you and strengthen our community during tough economic times.
We have restructured our financial assistance program to ensure those in need get immediate access to our facilities and to simplify the confidential application process. Whether you are an existing member or a new applicant, it's now easier than ever!
- Getting started:
- Complete a financial assistance application
- Contact a member services representative or mail to any of our YMCA locations
- Your application is processed confidentially and someone will contact you directly to let you know the amount of assistance you have qualified for. Please allow up to 14 business days for processing.
- NEW! Starter Membership (optional):
- During the application process, there is a Starter Membership option that allows immediate access to the YMCA of Greater Charlotte facilities. Receive a 30 day multi-person Starter Membership while your application is reviewed for $25.
(This fee is waived if you have experienced job loss.) - To initiate your Starter Membership, fill out a membership application and visit the YMCA location of your choice.
*Eligibility for the Starter Membership is once per rolling calendar year per household.
