YMCA of Greater Charlotte

MLK Prayer Breakfast

Join us in commemorating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., social activist and winner of the 1964 Nobel Peace Prize, at the 18th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer Breakfast presented by the H.L. McCrorey Family YMCA.

The Prayer Breakfast will be held on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 7:00 AM at The Westin Charlotte. Bishop Vashti McKenzie, 117th elected and consecrated bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, is the keynote speaker. This event will celebrate and reflect upon Dr. King's commanding tenets of the American Dream - Freedom, Democracy and Opportunity for All. The breakfast provides guests a tangible opportunity to support Dr. King's dream for equality as the proceeds from the event are channeled directly into the McCrorey service area to help fulfill YMCA program and membership needs for all, regardless of economic status.

Celebrate the National Day of Prayer with us. Tickets are $35 and available at all branches of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte. Doors open at 6:30 AM and the event begins at 7:00 AM.
