Lifeguarding

Are you ready for your first job, summer employment or just want to try something new?  Lifeguarding is not only a fun job, but it is a great way to explore the employment options the field of aquatics offers.  Lifeguarding develops leadership, problem solving, decision-making and communication skills that are valuable in many areas of life.  Become certified through this program that focuses on water rescue, safety, leadership development and personal growth.  Upon completion, you will be qualified to work at an aquatic facility as a certified YMCA lifeguard.

This course includes CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Oxygen Administration for the Professional Rescuer and Standard First Aid.  This 2-day, 8 hour portion will be taught:  (must attend both days)
Friday, March 26th, 6:00 PM-9:00 PM
Satuarday, March 27th, 1:00 PM-6:00 PM

The YMCA Lifeguard portion of this course is 30 hours, which includes 19 classroom hours, 11 pool hours, plus 2-hour practical experience.  You MUST attend all classes to receive certification.
