The purpose of Y Achievers is to tap into the great potential that all teens have. We make this possible through leadership and academic enrichment programs ensuring that every teen has an opportunity to envision a positive future and to take an active role in strengthening the community.

In partnership with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Y Achievers addresses Charlotte's most critical need: increasing the graduation rate from 73.6% to 90% by 2014. Y Achievers helps teens set and achieve post-secondary education and future career goals.

Y Achievers begins during the students' ninth grade of high school and students participate in the program through twelfth grade. Through academic support, career exploration and mentoring, Y Achievers helps youth raise academic standards, develop a positive sense of self, build character, explore diverse college and career options, and meet and interact with professionals who serve as role models to inspire them to greater heights. We identify critical needs and mobilize staff, volunteers and community partners to create positive solutions.
