Donor Spotlight
I decided to join Simmons because I felt like East Charlotte needed and still needs more volunteer support from the Greater Charlotte community. Whether it is playing in a youth sports league, using the workout facilities or providing ESL classes in East Charlotte, the Y fills the needs of each community.
I have remained attracted to the Y because of the enjoyment I received from working with the staff and volunteers to better Simmons and its work in East Charlotte. I also found the Christian environment of the Y was meaningful to me and I have been rewarded because of its importance in the organization. East Charlotte has the opportunity to be a special community with the diversity of its residents. There is no better place for people to gather, build trust with one another and ultimately build a better community than at the Simmons Y.
