Class Descriptions


PARENT/CHILD
  (6-36 months)
Shrimp & Kipper Level 1
Introduces parents and infants to water adjustment and basic water skills such as kicking, arm movements, and breath control.  Games and singing create a gentle, nurturing environment for the child as they explore the water.  Adult must be in the water with the child.

Inias and Perch Level 2
Teaches parents and children water adjustment, kicking, reaching, paddling, floating and blowing bubbles.  Child will be encouraged to follow and respond to visual and verbal cues to make progress through the water. Adult must be in the water with the child.

Swim Lesson
PRESCHOOL AGE  (3-5 years)
Pike
Designed for children with little or no swimming experience. General introduction to basic water skills such as blowing bubbles, kicking on front and back, floating on back, paddle stroke and jumping from the side with assistance.

Eel
Children must be able to swim horizontally with floattion or assistance for 25 yards (one lap of the pool) and swim horizontally without floatation or assistance for five yards.  Rotary breathing, kicking on back and diving skills will be learned.  

Starfish/Rays
Child can swim 30 feet using front crawl, can demonstrate rotary breathing using a kickboard and can swim on their back. The class teaches back crawl, underwater swimming, front dive and elementary backstroke.


SCHOOL AGE  (6-12 years)
Polliwog
A beginner level class that teaches front and back glides, flutter kick,self-confidence in deep water and water adjustment. 

Guppy
Child has successfully completed the Polliwog class or is able to swim 25 yards on either front or back with floatation or assistance. Teaches front crawl with rotary breathing for 25 yards, treading water and increasing confidence in deep water. 

Minnow
Child has successfully completed the guppy class or is able to swim front crawl with rotary breathing for 25 yards. Teaches back crawl, diving, and elementary backstroke kick.  

Fish
Must complete Minnow or be able to swim 35 yards back crawl and front crawl with rotary breathing.  Students learn breastroke kick, dolphin kick and elementary backstroke.   

Flying Fish
Child has successfully completed the Fish course and is ready to move into working on complete laps with stroke improvement.  Building 50 yard work at the front crawl and back crawl.  Time to consider swim team!

Shark
Must complete Flying Fish or be able to swim 200 yards front crawl and back crawl, elementary backstroke, breastroke, and dolphin kick.  Children learn butterfly, open turns, side turns and side stroke.
 Adult Swim

ADULT
This is an open format class with individual goals in mind. This class is for everyone from beginners to the advanced swimmer.  We tailor your time to what you are interested in accomplishing.

PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS 
One-on-one instruction for any ability level at any age.  Lessons expire six months after the date of purchase.
