Weight Management

Your excuse and your solution to a healthy lifestyle are very personal.  That's why the YMCA's Weight Management programs are based on your individual needs.
Weight Management
Through interviews, assessments and classes, YMCA experts will help you set goals and find your personal health journey.

YMCA Weight Management is NOT boot camp.  Our health experts will meet you where you are in your health journey and find solutions that work for you.  You may find that just walking more or choosing healthier snacks is your first step to a longer, happier, healthier life.

Here's an overview of the 8-week Weight Management program:

Week 1
  • Understand your personal health status
  • Set goals
  • Receive your food & physical activity and pedometer
  • Begin tracking your steps with your pedometer
The YMCA's Weight Management program is endorsed by the Cooper Clinic.  For more than 35 years, the Cooper Clinic has been known as the pioneer in preventative medicine.  Dr. Kenneth H. Cooper's philosophy is that it's far easier to maintain good health than to regain it once it's lost.

Nutrition 101 Class

Weeks 2 through 7

  • Discuss goals, successes and challenges
  • Weekly weigh-ins
  • Receive weekly guidance on educational materials

Week 8

  • Review goals
  • Measure and celebrate accomplishments
  • Develop an ongoing success plan!
