• Cardio Step with Maria on Monday at 9:15 AM in Room 1
• While Marcy is on maternity leave, Lesley/Jennie will teach her Monday 10:15 am Cycle and Alicia will teach her Wednesday 4:50 PM in Room 2
• Cardio Weights with Charity on Monday at 4:50 PM in Room 2
• Gentle Yoga with Vonnie will now end at 1:15 PM on Tuesday/Thursday in Room 3
• Cardio Step with Stephanie on Wednesday at 8:05 AM in Room 1
• Mindfulness Yoga with Maureen on Wednesday at 10:15 AM in Room 3
• Emily is teaching Cycle on Wednesday at 12:05 PM in March and April for Beth
• Yoga with Shelley in the Alltel Room on Thursday will now start at 8:30 AM
• Hip Hop Hustle with Renee on Thursday at 6:45 PM in Room 1
• Renee will be teaching ZUmba for Marina on Friday at 10:30 AM for March and April
SPECIAL EVENTS
• Belly Dancing: Join Elizabeth for “Beginner Belly dancing” on Saturday, March 6 from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM in Room 2! Learn basic belly dancing movements such as hip circles, undulations and snake arms that will be incorporated into a complete dance!
• St. Patrick’s Day Cycle: Join Joe on Saturday, March 6 from 2:00 PM-4:00 PM, make sure you are wearing green! We will cycle to the best Irish folk music such as “Whiskey in a Jar”, “The Wild Rover” and “Rocky Road to Dublin!”
• Zumbathon: It’s that time of year again when our dancin’ divas rock the house for Commuunity Outreach! Join Emily, Lori, Elizabeth, Jatrine and Marina for 2 hours of Zumba fun on Saturday, March 13 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM in Room 2! Event tanks will be pre-sale only (see membership staff for details!) See any Zumba instructor for a “sponsor/pledge form” or you can donate to Community Outreach at the door!
• Siskey Senior Recital: Our Sassy Senior and Tai Chi regulars are ready to strut their stuff on Saturday, March 13 at 2:00 PM in Room 2! Feel free to watch this amazing group of talented Seniors! Light refreshments will be served.
• Cyclessense: Join Michele FM on Sunday, March 14 for another awesome CycleSSense experience at 1:00 PM. For this drill based class, we can guarantee you a “Beautiful Day” with music and video from U@. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in “Mysterious Ways” and with “Pride.” It’s “One” ride you cant miss. Green apparel is optional.
• Girls Tween Yoga: This Yoga class designed for girls ages 9-12 will be held on Saturday, march 27 from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM in Room 3 with Karen. The class will focus on Vinyasa Yoga/tween music and self-esteem awareness.
• Great Service: Our goal is to consistently provide you with GREAT service! If a staff member did something to make your Y experience GREAT, please tell us about it using the drop boxes located throughout the branch!
• Holiday Hours: We will be closed for Easter on Sunday, April 4th so staff and members can enjoy the day with family and friends. We will reopen on Monday at 5:00 AM with the regular GE schedule.
• Community Outreach Weeks: During the weeks of March 8th and March 15th, instructors and members will be distributing pledge forms for our 2010 Community Outreach campaign! Please consider donating to this incredible program that helps so many families through discounted memberships literacy programs, sports and camp scholarships and Camp Boomerang (a summer camp for children with autism!)
• Siskey Cycling 2010: Welcome to the Siskey Family YMCA’s outdoor cycling club. We are a recreational bike group whose mission is to have fun, meet some other cyclists, and get some exercise at the same time! All of our rides are “no-drop” (meaning we won’t leave you out on the back roads of Union county by yourself). We typically ride every Thursday morning at 9:00 AM and Saturday/Sunday at 8:00 AM. Times do change as the weather dictates – so please contact Anne Marie Lax at Annemarie.lax@ymcacharlotte.org for up-to-date information.
• March’s Featured Ride: St. Patty’s Ride: Saturday, March 17th, 10:00 AM at Marvin Elementary. Join the Y Xtreme team as we celebrate all things Irish. We’ll do our regular 32 or 45 miler from Marvin Elementary School. Be sure to wear green!! Route Sheets and marked course. No SAG or food provided- but we do have planned stops to refuel.

The Siskey YMCA strives to be a supportive and welcoming environment for all our members. To ensure the safety and enjoyment of everyone, participants in adult GE classes must be 13 to attend. bold boxes are recommended for those beginning or resuming an exercise program. Many of our classes such as Sculpt and Cycle are geared for all levels because you control the intensity of your workout by choosing your weights/ tension. Our step classes are 100% tapless – please try our beginner classes before trying Cardio or Challenge Step. All classes are included in your membership fee. Please wear tennis shoes and bring a towel and water bottle. Cycle classes are first come first serve. Please plan on arriving early to secure your bike (especially on weekends)
