The YMCA sports mission is to promote, develop and nurture in every child and family the values that are core to the YMCA: faith, caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. The Youth Sports program will encourage teamwork, sportsmanship and fairness while striving to build the self-esteem and physical ability of each child through equal participation and reinforcement.
The success of the program is partially dependent on volunteers. Most of our coaches are parents and friends who give their time to develop our kids in the sport skills, character and fair play.
Our goals for the Youth Sports Program are to:
- Further the mission of the YMCA
- Caring for self and others
- Honesty in action and words
- Respect of others, ourselves and the environment
- Responsibility for actions and duties
- Faith in self, others and God
- Build each child's self-esteem
- Teach the skills of sports
- Build good relationships among peers, families and volunteers
- Create a fun, Christian atmosphere for everyone
At the Siskey Family YMCA, we offer Soccer and Flag Football in the spring and fall seasons as well as summer Baseball and winter Basketball.
Registration for Summer Baseball Leagues and Clinics begins March 24 for Members and April 21 for Program Members.
