In the summer of 2009, the Steele Creek YMCA helped approximately 100 children at Berryhill and Nations Ford Elementary Schools raise or maintain their reading levels.
$1,200 provides one child with one summer of YMCA Starfish Academy.

The YMCA employs six social workers who serve more than 200 families with children in Charlotte's most at-risk neighborhoods. The Strengthening Families Program helps these families connect to resources that fill basic needs.
$1300 provides one family in crisis with one year of needed support.

The Steele Creek YMCA offers a fun, safe environment for 500 children and teens in the summer and during the hours afterschool. Youth engage in enriching, healthy activities with positive role models.
$175 provides one child with one week of summer day camp.
