Volunteering

At the YMCA, your time and talent go a long way. As a YMCA volunteer, you have the opportunity to provide caring attention to children and teens, support for local families, and encouragement for people of all ages and circumstances to build healthier lifestyles. Get involved at the Steele Creek YMCA and in your community!

Areas to volunteer in include:

Membership: Greet and assist members and answer questions from prospective members. Provide administrative assistance and support

Fitness/Wellness:  Assist with various fitness challenges or programs. Help with Wellness lectures.

Afterschool / Day Camp:  Assist with program activities, tutoring, and mentoring

Children's Program Center:  Greet parents or help monitor children. Volunteer for specific events such as Parents' Morning and Night Out and FitKidz

Special Programs:  Christian Emphasis, Active Older Adults, YLINK:CLT, and English as a Second Language classes 

Community Outreach:  Serve in a wide variety of activities to raise funds to serve the under-served in our community

Special Events: Golf Tournaments, Children's Events.  Hear about upcoming opportunities by being added to our distribution list.  Contact Brooke Beddow (information below) to be added to the list today!

In an effort to provide a safe environment for our members, participants, staff and volunteers, the YMCA of Greater Charlotte does have a volunteer screening process.  This may include one or more of the following: a volunteer application, references, interview and/or criminal background check dependent on the volunteer area.  We thank you for your interest and participation as the YMCA works to provide a safe environment for all.
