Leaders

The YMCA is an organization that held a special place in the hearts of Jim Richardson and Willie J. Stratford, Sr. Among the first African Americans to serve as trustees on the Metro Board of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte, they especially looked forward to the day the Stratford Richardsdon YMCA would open its doors to the community. They wished to ensure that a suitable place was available where citizens of the West community could reach their full potential as human beings created in the image of God.

Jim and Strat did not live to see this happen, but you can be a part of their vision. Join us as we "light tomorrow with today" by contributing to the "Friends" Commemorative Fund to honor these leaders.
