The Stratford Richardson YMCA is committed to “listening to the community… instilling ownership and symbolizing hope through responsive action”. This is one of the branch’s vision tenets, so it’s not a coincidence that the West Corridor Community Roundtable Group is hosted and facilitated by the Stratford Richardson YMCA.
The roundtable group has been meeting monthly for a year now. The vision of the West Corridor Roundtable is to enhance the quality of life for all residents in the West Corridor through activities that leverage resources and foster collaborations,” says Regina Fisher, Senior Program Director for the Stratford Richardson YMCA.
The four focus areas for the roundtable include:
- Social and Economic Empowerment
- Health and Wellness
- Education Awareness
- Leveraging Resources and Collaboration
The group meets monthly, and the meetings provide an opportunity for community agencies to share their services and upcoming events. Upcoming meetings are scheduled for: September 19th, October 17th and November 21st.

The Roundtable benefits the community immensely by providing the monthly forum for a diverse cross-section of stakeholders to discuss pressing community issues and needs, while also allowing area nonprofits to network and better leverage our resources. The Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County, with representation from West Blvd. Library and Freedom Regional Library, values this opportunity to collaborate with other community partners.”
