WATER EXERCISE

Ideal for all fitness levels, working out in water is a low-impact way to get fit and stay fit!

Across our 19 branches in the greater Charlotte area, the Y offers nearly 200 water fitness classes each week! Enjoy indoor pools open year round and outdoor pools open for an extended summer from the beginning of May through late September.
 
Whether you’re an experienced swimmer wanting to train with a group or simply looking to add something new to your workout routine, the Y has programs and water exercise classes to fit your ability and desired level of intensity.

Join our certified instructors in the pool for a fun and challenging workout using the resistance and buoyancy of the water to strengthen and tone muscles, increase flexibility and improve heart health. Work at your own ability level with the encouragement from friendly, welcoming classmates. Non-swimmers welcome!  

 

Masters Swim

Whether you’re training for races or training to stay fit, Masters Swim at the Y provides the coaching and accountability of a team to help you improve and stay motivated. A program of the United Masters Swimming, the USMS provides organized workouts, competitions, clinics and workshops for adults.  Learn more >>
