The role of YMCAs across the globe is to respond to the critical needs of the communities they serve.
In the greater Charlotte area, those needs include poverty, illiteracy, poor health and unemployment.
You don’t have to look far to see the needs near you.

In the neighborhoods surrounding the Siskey YMCA*:
  • More that 20,000 of Charlotte's youth live and play.
  • Over 2,400 are enrolled in youth sports programs, including basketball, football and soccer at the Siskey YMCA.

You can change the outcome. It all starts with you.

By donating to the YMCA Annual Campaign, you help fund the following programs:

The YMCA Afterschool programs are highly successful. By providing quality afterschool programs, kids are kept safe, inspired to learn, develop positive life skills and working families feel supported.  The benefits of quality afterschool programs are clear:
• They support working families by ensuring that children are safe and productive when the school day ends.
• They make our communities stronger by involving students, parents, business leaders and volunteers.
• They give children the opportunity to grow academically and socially.

$600 will send two children to afterschool for one month.

Each summer the Siskey YMCA gives 150 children with autism the opportunity to experience summer day camp. Without your generous donations, these children might otherwise not be able to participate in a camp environment.  One in every 150 children born today will be diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.*

$450 will provide a child with autism day camp experience.

The Siskey YMCA Day Camp is committed to providing the best possible summer camp experience for children, youth and young adults.  YMCA Day Camp offers many benefits, including developing leadership skills, meeting new people, and most of all having fun.

$200 sends a child to a week of YMCA Day Camp.

The rate of obese adults increased for the 3rd year in a row, placing NC as the 12th highest rank in the U.S.

$70 will provide an 8 week one-on-one Weight management program.

Through a variety of youth sports programs, home school programs, designated youth fitness areas, and aquatics lessons, the Siskey YMCA is able to provide children with a variety of ways to increase their physical activity.  North Carolina has the 14th highest population of obese & overweight children in the U.S.*

$200 will fund two children through a YMCA sports season.

Charitable gifts made to the YMCA of Greater Charlotte represent a gift to the entire YMCA mission. To help the most number of people in need, the YMCA uses donations where they can do the most good by pooling them together to strengthen the entire community. Because your gift is helping the YMCA provide life-transforming programs to adults and children, your gift is tax deductible.
