My connection to the Siskey YMCA is simple: I can meet the needs of my God, my family and friends and myself fully in the confines of this YMCA.
The reason I got involved at first was to introduce my eldest son to team sports. During that time I met the staff at the YMCA and immediately wanted to learn more about what the YMCA meant for my community. In learning about the community outreach program and the relationship the Siskey YMCA has with Johnston YMCA I learned the vital role the Y plays here in Charlotte.
People in some of the more impoverished section of Charlotte have a better life because of the Siskey and Johnston YMCAs' community outreach efforts and by me getting involved personally I actually get to contribute a little myself!
So with my relationship with the Y I get all the above plus the ability to work out, meet new friends and spend time with my family in a Christian atmosphere! As the commercial says, "who could ask for anything more?"
